new armour? - Guild Wars Forums

Well Yesterday I picked up a copy of the guild war trilogy(great deal they even gave me eye of the north for free) and I started my character on the first campiagn. My char is a elemental/necromancer and is now level 8. I am using some of the wepons i got from the bonus GOTYE of gw. But i noticed im using the same armour as i did when i started. I havent found any new armour or a place to buy it. How do you get new armour?
if it wasnt for the bonus i probably still would be using the starter weapons also

There are specific locations/outposts with NPCs that craft armor for you - it cannot be found on drops, and cannot be bought from other players. Take Gold and the correct materials to the NPCs and they'll craft custom armor for your character. There are also Collectors that take specific items in exchange of armors (if you are in the Pre-Searing area of Prophecies, for example).

Check the armor section on the wiki and you can see all locations and costs, including collectors (just beware of spoilers).

Mind you there's no "crafter" in the early areas in Prophecies. The only way you could get a better armor is by handing some requested items to the collectors around.

Normally, there's an armor crafter in most of the major towns in the games.

there are armor crafters in many of the main cities like LA, Kamadan etc. youll need to bring the necessary materials and money and theyll craft it for you, be warned it can only be worn by you.

Since you say you started a character in the "first campaign", I would assume that that means Prophecies and you are in what is known as "pre-searing". There are no armor crafters in pre-searing, but there are collectors who will give you armor pieces in exchange for various items.
Once you get out of pre-searing, there are 2 armor crafters in Ascalon city where you can get better armor.
In pre-searing, better weapons are gotten as drops, or by buying them from other players.

Now that your question has already been answered I feel I can say this without coming across as too "elitest" or "grumpy" or whatever else.....the game has a manual....in it are answers to many questions you may have....and some you may not have thought to ask yet. You have far too many resources available to you as a new player....use them well. Back when I was a new player we didn't have the wikis.

RTFM (Read The F'n Manual) used to be one of my favourite responses, but I've mellowed since then.

(And basically gave up trying to get people to do it.)

Btw, most problems/questions to do with Windows can also be answered by using "Help And Support" (basically RTFM) but look how many people post questions on forums.

I'm curious, did the Trilogy and/or Complete Collection even come with their manuals? I'd imagine in an attempt to cut costs, they won't print those things anymore, but would have them in pdf form or at least link to where you could download them.

On another note, I guess its RTFW nowadays, lols. Here's a wiki link for getting new armor while still in pre. For post, Banoit and Corwen in Ascalon City will craft your next set. Pre is a good place to stock up on materials you would need to craft that first set.
